The Mexican Church Candle in more primitive places is still made in a dirt-floored room connected to the house. The wheel that the wicks are hung on is made out of wood. Then the hot paraffin is bathed in layers over the hanging wicks. When we first started selling the candles 14 years ago, they were made in the same manner for us. To this day the main place to buy the original size candles in Mexico is in the local “funeral parlor”!
